Christakopoulou Ismini

Dipl. MSc


Ismini Christakopoulou is an architect, urban designer and artist. Her practice focuses on the interdisciplinary field between architecture, physics and acoustics, involving analogue techniques and digital technologies, computational design and procedural-based art experimentation. She holds a Master of Science from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna (2015) and a Diploma in Architecture Engineering from the Technical University of Crete (2012), both with distinction.

Between 2016-2017 she worked at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, for the Joint International Program “Territorial Planning, Arts and Innovation”, as well as the Research Lab [applied] Foreign Affairs. During the period 2014-2017, she has been collaborating with the urban research and action collective ‘urbz’ based in India and Switzerland. Since 2012 she has been teaching, organizing and conducting international workshops in Greece, Switzerland and Austria. Her personal and team works have taken part in exhibitions, festivals, lectures and symposia in Buenos Aires / Argentina, Vienna, Graz / Austria, Zagreb/Croatia, Bordeaux/France, Accra/Ghana, Athens, Chania, Pyrgos Ileias, Rethymnon / Greece, Mumbai / India, Rome/Italy, Cyeonggi-do/South Korea, Amsterdam/The Netherlands, Geneva/Switzerland, Greenwich/UK , Detroit, Los Angeles, New York/USA.

Ismini joined the Institute of Architecture and Media on September 2017, as a project assistant for the „Urban Soundscapes“ research project, funded by the „Initial Funding Programme“ for young researchers of TU Graz.
