„DIRTY PRINTING LAB“

“The elective 161.803 SE Digital Form and Motion “DIRTY PRINTING LAB” at the Institute for Architecture and Media offers students the opportunity to design experimental and innovative modular systems from 3D printed ceramic elements and to fabricate them as 1:1 prototypes. As part of the course, the students will be able to develop experimental designs for structural or facade systems made of ceramics by using parametric design tools and additive manufacturing processes, taking into account material-specific properties. 1: 1 prototypes of these modules are created by the students within the course with the help of a large 3D printer specially designed for viscous materials. No previous knowledge of materials or software is required.”

“Parametric Brick Module”: Exploration of new vocabularies of form in the digital space, discussion of perception and design of motion and form process.

In this course students will learn how to work with parametric design tools and additive manufacturing processes considering specific material properties.
With the aid of these instruments they will develop experimental designs of structural or facade systems made of ceramic. 1:1 prototypes of the brick modules will be fabricated within the course.

For registration you have to be identified in TUGRAZonline as a student.
