Summerschool Furniture Design 2026, Results

During the week of September 21–25, 2026, the Institute of Spatial Design—in collaboration with StudentsART and the Institute for Architecture and Media—hosted the “Furniture Design” summer school. Due to the high demand, unfortunately only a select group of students was able to participate.

Under the guidance of Rainer Eberl, the students designed chairs and seating furniture—along with the corresponding detailed plans—in a relatively short period of time. Where the designs and time allowed, they also built demonstration models or even prototypes. The plan moving forward is to bring as many designs as possible to life in Rainer Eberl’s furniture workshop and to build prototypes during the current semester.
