At a moment when AI appears to be rapidly reshaping the world, Edouard Cabay, artist and researcher, develops a practice that examines the relationships between the human body and digital and machinic environments. His work investigates how gestures, tools, and computational systems co-evolve, situating making as a process shaped by continuity, variation, and transformation.

Edouard Cabay’s work lies at the intersection of art and architecture—disciplines that he both practices and teaches in Barcelona. In 2016, he initiated Machinic Protocols, a research project that uses drawing to create collective interactions between people, machines, and computers.

He is Program Head and Senior Faculty at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, where he co-directs 3dPA, a program focused on developing
new housing solutions using 3D-printed earth.

He has taught at the AA, EPFL, ESA, and La Salle in Barcelona.
